n May 2003, Alex and Kristina of famed New York City jazz haunt Zinc Bar, and Michelle Connolly of the Red Room (San Francisco) joined forces with celebrated cocktail stylist Julie Reiner to create a true high-end and high-style cocktail lounge. Along with partners Susan Fedroff and Kevin, they opened the doors to the golden age of cocktails with the art deco-inspired Flatiron Lounge. The Flatiron Lounge boasts a cocktail menu of original concoctions by Julie Reiner as well as classic drinks from a bygone era.

Flatiron patrons can savor unique cocktail creations from the menu created by Ms. Reiner, which include fresh fruit-infused cocktails and martini FLIGHTS. Three mini martinis with a common flavor theme compose each FLIGHT. The FLIGHT TO HAWAII, for instance, highlights drinks with tropical fruits and rum, while the FLIGHT BACK IN TIME celebrates the Rat Pack's favorites, the Sazarac, Sidecar, and the Aviation Cocktail. Other nightly specials originate from some of Manhattan's most notorious drinkmakers including Audrey Saunders of Bemelmans Bar and Dale Degroff.
Located in a landmark building constructed in 1900, the Flatiron Lounge (designed and built by Alex, Kristina, and Kevin) evokes the decadence and romance of a by-gone era. The sounds of jazz draw you through a dramatic archway leading to the meticulously restored 30ft. mahogany bar. Built in 1927, the bar itself was once stationed at The Ballroom where Frank Sinatra and other celebrities frequented. Over the bar hangs a row of art deco-inspired stained glass lights. Reflecting an era of elegance, thousands of vintage cobalt blue mirrored glass tiles cover an entire wall and overlook deep red circular booths. The jet-set will no doubt find their way downstairs to our modern age club-style room. With sparkling lights, gold leafed walls, and plush banquettes, you are enveloped in an age of luxury on a journey with the rich sounds of today's cutting edge music.
